Meet Cindy, personal style coach and shopping buddy.

On my first day of kindergarten in small-town Ohio, I introduced myself to my future best friend, Tara B. She didn’t know it yet--but I surely did. Her royal purple and fuschia striped velour jumpsuit caught my eye and served as a window into her 5 year-old spirit.

Choosing friends with great fashion taste was only the start. In middle school, I accompanied my father every Sunday newspaper to the local news shop. There was nothing more invigorating than picking up the latest issue of Vogue, paging through the ink-smelling pages, and then calling the stores with a disguised “adult” voice to request the latest catalogs and lookbooks.

Once I reached high school, my love for fashion grew even more. (Unfortunately, my height did not.) My mother taught me how to sew so I could make sure my clothing was perfectly tailored to fit my 5’ tall frame. I also made certain that I maintained a detailed log of my outfits so as not to repeat a look.

After earning my undergraduate psychology degree in Ohio, I found my way to NYC. I landed a job in corporate land at a management consulting firm. A few years in, I felt the need to study fashion design at Parsons.

After finishing my studies at Parsons, I searched earnestly for a way to marry my two loves of coaching and fashion. And that is how I got my start as a personal style coach! I’ve been happily working with female and male clients of all ages and budgets since the summer of 2009.

I believe that you can rediscover your truth and build confidence by taking time to understand your shopping habits and how you express yourself through dressing. Oh, and I don’t bite! No judgments--only friend-next-door guidance.

When not working with CG Style clients, I work full-time as the head of people at a tech start-up. I also enjoy popcorn, fashion magazine hoarding, the color chartreuse, headstands, and spending time with my pup (Bert).
